چکیده
Pitanga (Eugenia uniflora L.) is an exotic fruit species of significant economic importance. However, due to genetic variability, its exploitation hampered by the lack homogeneous production. In this scenario, study aimed select pitanga genotypes according physical and physicochemical parameters fruits grown under semi-arid conditions. The was developed at Federal Rural University Semi-Arid Region with resulting from open pollination variety ‘Tropicana”. Thirty-nine were evaluated for mass, length, diameter, soluble solids (SS), titratable acidity (TA), ascorbic acid (AA), pH, SS/TA ratio. showed high variability. clustering method separated desirable traits. Genotype A12 largest sizes, whereas genotype A8 highest SS TA contents. Genotypes A2, A13, A34, A39 AT values. On other hand, A11, A16, A45, A9, A26, A44 most contents pH SS/TA. Highlights grouping two depends on environmental conditions, mainly effect per year. analysis principal components allows selecting based their desired characteristics. chemical composition are affected climatic years cultivation.

Introduction and objectives The Atlantic Forest (AF) is considered the second largest tropical forest in South America with high species richness and endemisms, harboring a large diversity of animals, plants and habitats types [1]. This biome covers an area of more than one million square kilometres along the Brazilian coast and extending to eastern Paraguay and northeastern Argentina [2]. AF i...
